Mystery Whipple-Reading Girl To Win Early Copy of Sullivan’s 2nd Book.

Who is she?

A friend from New York sent me this picture, snapped while on board a New York City subway.

I don’t know who the woman is, but obviously she has great taste in books and I have every reason to believe she’d love a free signed copy of my second book, Thirty Rooms To Hide In: Insanity, Addiction, and Rock ‘n’ Roll in the Shadow of the Mayo Clinic.

I’d send her one today, but I don’t know who she is. Does anybody? Could you please use the social buttons directly below and ask around? Thanks all.   –Luke

  1. Yes, it’s me. My name is Ian and I’m a comfortably dressed, married father of two from England. Shall I send you my address?

  2. Holy shit! I know that girl…

Last summer, somewhere between the months of July and August, I took an after hours advertising concept course through New York’s SVA program–the girl in the photo was definitely in my class. Our instructors (who I guess I shouldn’t name here without their permission?) told us during the second to grab a copy of Hey Whipple, Squeez This. Promising it would help our struggling creative minds to grow into… less struggling creative minds.

I’d have to do some digging/emailing to remember what her name was and how to contact her (I’m sure the instructors have all that information).

Anyway, the ironic thing is–on that second day of class, our intstructors offered to give away a free copy to the student who had the best concept that day. Who was the lucky student? Not the girl (that’d be too far fatched, out-of-this-world ironic). It was me. And I was reading it again over the weekend, leading me to Google you for a blog, and eventually launching me into this long-winded reply.

    Life is funny, eh?

    • Yo Daniel: That is VERY cool. And yes, that would be blow your mind coincidence if she had won the other book. Yes, find her please. Soooo cool.
